More than 2,000 people have signed a petition backing Julian Dunkerton’s latest plans for Number 131 Promenade while planning officers fear they will harm its historic Cheltenham town centre setting.
Cheltenham Borough Council is due to consider today two separate proposals for a covered outside seating area at 129-133.
Police will be escorting a number of abnormal loads tomorrow (Friday).
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit will start the escort from 9am and continuing throughout the day.
A man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of his wife in Cheltenham last year.
Charles Graham, aged 78 and of Fairfield Road in Cheltenham, appeared at Bristol Crown Court this afternoon where he pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 67-year-old Davinia Graham.

Illegal tobacco and vapes worth nearly £5,000, believed to be linked to a shop in central Stroud, have been seized by Gloucestershire County Council trading standards officers.
Following reports from concerned parents that a shop was selling vapes to under 18s, trading standards officers visited the shop in January 2025.

Stroud District Council may have to go back to the drawing board as inspectors have recommended they withdraw their “flawed” development blueprint for more than 12,000 homes amid concerns over M5 junction capacity.
Inspectors first raised serious concerns in 2023 over the viability of the district’s draft local plan due to the need to upgrade junctions 12 and 14 to accommodate the expected growth.
